Understanding Volume Discounts
RatingFlow offers volume discounts when you purchase multiple business seats. The more seats you buy, the more you save. Here's how it works.
Volume Discount Tiers
RatingFlow has four discount tiers based on your total number of business seats:
Tier 1: 5 to 9 total seats - 10 percent discount on additional seats. Tier 2: 10 to 14 total seats - 15 percent discount on additional seats. Tier 3: 15 to 49 total seats - 20 percent discount on additional seats. Tier 4: 50 or more total seats - 25 percent discount on additional seats.
The discount applies to the per-seat price of $47 for additional seats. Your first seat is always $97, then each additional seat is $47 minus any applicable discount.
How Discounts are Calculated
The discount is based on your total number of seats, not just how many you're buying in a single transaction. This means:
If you already have seats and add more, your total count determines the discount tier. If you're buying multiple seats at once, the system looks at where you'll end up and applies the appropriate discount. Discounts are cumulative, you qualify for higher tiers as your total seat count increases.
The RatingFlow system automatically calculates which tier you qualify for and applies the discount at checkout. You don't need to do any math or request the discount manually.
Real-World Examples
Example 1: Buying Your First 5 Seats. You purchase RatingFlow for the first time and buy 5 seats total. Your first seat costs $97. Seats 2 through 5 are $47 each, but you qualify for the 10 percent discount. With the 10 percent discount, seats 2 through 5 cost $42.30 each instead of $47. Total cost: $97 plus 4 times $42.30 equals $266.20 instead of $285 without the discount. You save $18.80.
Example 2: Growing from 8 to 12 Seats. You already have 8 seats. You decide to add 4 more seats, bringing your total to 12. Since 12 seats puts you in the 10 to 14 range, you qualify for the 15 percent discount. With the 15 percent discount, each of the 4 new seats costs $39.95 instead of $47. Total for 4 seats: $159.80 instead of $188. You save $28.20.
Example 3: Buying 20 Seats at Once. You're a franchise or agency starting with RatingFlow and buy 20 seats immediately. Your first seat is $97. Seats 2 through 20 are 19 seats at the 20 percent discount because your total of 20 puts you in the 15 to 49 tier. With the 20 percent discount, each additional seat costs $37.60 instead of $47. Total for 19 additional seats: $714.40. Total overall: $97 plus $714.40 equals $811.40 instead of $990 without discount. You save $178.60.
Calculating Your Savings
Here's a quick reference for the discounted per-seat price at each tier:
No discount for 1 to 4 seats: $47 per additional seat. 10 percent off for 5 to 9 seats: $42.30 per additional seat. 15 percent off for 10 to 14 seats: $39.95 per additional seat. 20 percent off for 15 to 49 seats: $37.60 per additional seat. 25 percent off for 50 plus seats: $35.25 per additional seat.
The more seats you need, the lower your effective cost per location.
When Discounts Apply
Volume discounts apply in these situations:
Bulk Purchase: When you buy multiple seats in a single transaction and your total qualifies for a discount tier.
Adding to Existing Seats: When you already have seats and purchase more, reaching a new discount tier.
Crossing Tier Thresholds: When your purchase pushes you from one tier into a higher discount tier.
The discount is automatically applied at checkout. You'll see the discounted price clearly displayed before you complete payment.
Retroactive Discounts
Important: Volume discounts are not retroactive. If you bought seats before qualifying for a discount, you don't get refunded the difference when you later reach a discount tier.
For example, if you bought 3 seats at full price, then later bought 2 more to reach 5 total, only those 2 new seats get the 10 percent discount. The first 3 seats were purchased before you qualified for any discount.
This is why it can be advantageous to estimate your total seat needs and purchase them together if possible, rather than buying one at a time.
Planning Your Purchase
To maximize your savings:
Count how many locations or businesses you need to manage now and in the near future. If you're close to a discount threshold, consider buying enough seats to reach it. For example, if you need 4 seats now and might need 2 more within six months, buying all 6 at once saves money. Compare the total cost with and without discounts to make an informed decision.
However, only buy what you actually need. Seats never expire, so there's no rush if you're not sure about future expansion.

Viewing Your Discount
When you're in the checkout process for additional seats, the system shows:

Review this carefully before completing your purchase to ensure the discount is applied correctly.
